Christmas Schedule at CrossView - 2021
Updates & Schedule
Hi CrossView,
Pastor Kyle here with another email update! I can't wait to gather together for the fourth Sunday of Advent this weekend. Our Sunday morning services have been so rich these past few weeks. I want to invite you again this coming Sunday as we end the Advent Season together.
I would also like to invite you to our Christmas Eve services on Friday, December 24th at 4:00 & 6:00pm. We will have two identical family-friendly candlelight services. We will sing our favorite Christmas Carols, hear the story of Jesus as read through scripture, pray together, and end our time by lighting Christmas Eve candles.
For the Sunday following Christmas Eve, we are going to do something a little different. Sunday, December 26th, the Sunday after Christmas, will be online only here at CrossView for that weekend only.
We know many of you will be with family and friends, and we encourage you to spend as much time as possible together with your loved ones.
Also, built into who we are at CrossView, is a primary focus on taking loving action toward those around you. It's the second major step of our discipleship pathway. As we learn and grow in our relationship with Jesus, we then live that out in the world and toward the people around us.
Therefore, instead of meeting in person on Sunday, December 26th, we encourage you to participate in some type of loving action in the community. You can do this either on Sunday itself or at some point during the following week. Doing this could be meaningful practice, and we encourage you to make this a priority for your week. There are lots of ideas, but we've come up with a few suggestions:
Volunteer for one hour at CrossView's food bank.
Visit local care home (please check your local COVID guidelines)
Drop off coffee, donuts, or simple gifts to your local police or fire station.
Gather several items from your home to take to a local shelter.
Put together a "blessing bag" of everyday essentials to hand out to those suffering from homelessness in your area.
Invite your neighbors for dinner.
Call three people you've not talked to in a while to check on them and to pray together.
There are lots of ideas, and I'm sure you can come up with many others as well. The point is to stress that CrossView Church is a group of people that practices its mission not only from the stage but also in the streets. That we sincerely care for the people around us and want to invite them into their own process with Jesus.
As for Sunday, December 26th, I mentioned it will be online only. We are putting together a fun video with some great Christmas music, a short conversation between Pastor Holly and me, and a few fun interludes with some of our CrossView kids that you can watch at either 9:00 & 10:30am or at any time point during the week.
Let me know if you have any questions. Please share some services ideas on our community FaceBook page - let's get creative together. I'm looking forward to hearing the stories of what God will do through us all in the season of Christmas.
